Invisible Success

Like so many before him, Dr. Lee Han Lim  has devoted his life to protecting human potential. He is currently appointed as Head of the Institute for Medical Research’s (IMR) Medical Entomology Unit. Working largely behind the scenes at IMR – a WHO Collaborating Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Dr. Lee is among the world’s leading advocates for Integrated Vector Management.

After recognizing the need to move away from traditional vector control methods early in his career, Dr. Lee has since become known for his innovative research, product evaluation measures, and a rapid screening test that detects resistance status for medically important pests. Dr. Lee played a key role in establishing wide-area application of bacterial larvicides using a ground application delivery system with foggers and misters, a method that has had tremendous impact on mosquito-borne disease control programs worldwide.
